Charlotte Brown (nee Sawa)
Charlotte Brown (nee Sawa), 68, passed away in peace on July 16.
Charlotte was the daughter of Zenon and Lydia Sawa, long-time residents of Prairie du Chien. She was born in a refugee camp in Austria after WWII as her parents emigrated from Ukraine. They settled in Prairie in 1949.
Charlotte graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Prairie in 1964, and then moved to Chicago and later to Orlando, Fla.
She is survived by her son Ross Parse of St. Charles, Ill. and her two brothers, Greg Sawa of Mandeville, La. and Martin Sawa of Los Angeles, Calif.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, July 21 at St. James Cathedral in downtown Orlando. Charlotte will be interred with her parents at Calvary Cemetery in Prairie du Chien.
