Florence R. Olson, 98, of Prairie du Chien, died Tuesday, May 5, at Prairie Maison in Prairie du Chien. 

She was born Dec. 12, 1916, near Gays Mills on her grandparents, David and Agnes Knoble’s farm. She was the daughter of Walter and Anna (Knoble) Frazier. 

Florence was employed at C-Z chemical factory in Beloit 6 years. She married James Theodore Olson on Nov. 9, 1949 in Okeene, Okla. where he worked with E.C. Schroeder contractors. They moved back to Wisconsin and farmed near Wauzeka for many years. James passed away April 9, 1965. Florence worked at the St. Francis Hospital in La Crosse, until she retired and moved back to Prairie du Chien. She is a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. 

Florence is survived by one brother, Gerald Frazier, and one sister-in-law, Vivian Frazier, Prairie du Chien, and many nieces and nephews. 

Florence was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents, Walter and Anna (Knobel) Frazier; five sisters, Juanita (Mary) Thompson, Helen Kaune, Evelyn Mitchell, Mildred Meiller, and Madeline Trautsch; and two brothers Floyd and Harold Frazier. 

 

Mass of the Resurrection will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wauzeka, Father Victor Feltes will be celebrant. 

Visitation will be one hour before service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wauzeka, Wisconsin. 

Burial will be at Wauzeka Cemetery, Wauzeka, Wisconsin following the Mass of the Resurrection.
