Wilma Berniese Lawrence, 98, Prairie du Chien, died Thursday, April 9, at Crossing Rivers Healthcare. 

She was born Feb. 6, 1917 to John and Grace (Bowan) Lange in Marion, Iowa. Wilma and her husband, Melvin Lawrence moved from Center Point, Iowa to Eastman, in 1961 where they farmed in that area for several years. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Organization since 1941.

Wilma is survived by one son, Gerald Lee Lawrence and his wife Ann; four grandchildren, Thomas Lawrence, Terrence (Denise) Lawrence, Tina Lawrence (Aaron) Amundson and Timothy (Alyssa) Lawrence; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Melvin on Nov. 15, 1989; her parents, John and Grace Lange; two brothers, Leslie and Glenn Lange; a sister, Erma (Lange) Wickham and a great-grandchild, Cherish Hope Lawrence.

Funeral services will be at noon on Monday, April 13, at Kingdom Hall in Prairie du Chien, with a one hour visitation before services on Monday. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

Thornburg – Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin is helping the family with the arrangements.
