Seneca tops Wauzeka-Steuben

Seneca topped visiting Wauzeka-Steuben 59-40 in a Division 5 Regional boys basketball game Friday night. 

Seneca led 15-11 after the first frame and 28-20 at halftime. 

The Indians out-scored the Hornets 15-11 in the third period and 16-9 in the fourth to pull away for the victory. 

Nick Payne led the Indians with 20 points. Brady Fernette scored 15 and Kilian Boland added 13.

Hunter Slaght, Turner Krachey and Jonah Huber each scored 9 points for the Hornets. Jeramiah Huber netted 8. Marti Lluis had 4 and Drew Zimmerman scored 1.

Wauzeka-Steuben ended its season with an 11-13 overall record. Seneca improved to 20-4 and advanced to host Fennimore in the Regional final on Saturday.
